It feels like a fresh start - the moment when the calendar flips, expectations soften, and anything still feels possible. This painting came from that in-between space at the beginning of something new, when you’re not following a plan yet, just exploring. The idea of an “Eighth color” isn’t about finding something that already exists, but about making room for something unexpected. I painted this with a sense of curiosity and optimism, letting it unfold naturally, like stepping into a new year without knowing exactly where it will lead - and being okay, even excited, about that.
